EXERGY PRESENTING ITS PROVEN PERFORMANCES AT THE EUROPEAN GEOTHERMAL CONGRESS

From the 19th to the 24th of September, in Strasbourg, France, EXERGY will be taking part in one of the main appointments for the big players of geothermal energy: The European Geothermal Congress. The event is a great occasion for the main branches of geothermal energy to have a unique outlook on the future prospective of the European energy sector.

EXERGY will take the chance to present a focus on the proven performances of our Innovative Radial Outflow Turbine technologywith diverse configurations in two different geothermal power plants, describing how our pioneering technology has been tailored to the customer’s needs and what its performances to today are.

The presentation will first report about Tosunlar I Plant in Turkey, equipped with the world first  2-pressure-level cycle on a single disk turbine, demonstrating how EXERGY’s Organic Rankine Cycle Systems can better exploit a low enthalpy resource at approx. 100 C° until now untapped due to the high investments required. Third party tests proved a 10,7% over performance of the plant and a turbine efficiency ranging from 91,96% to 93,65%, over the predicted figures.

The second example will describe UMURLU I  geothermal plant harnessing a medium enthalpy resource. The plant has a resource temperature of 145 C° and is equipped with two turbines for two pressure levels. In this case, third party tests proved that the plant is running with over performances between 8 and 12% due to the Radial Outflow Turbine, and is therefore producing up to 1.5 MWe more than guaranteed value to the client.

If you wish to learn more come and visit us at EGC at Stand #11 and attend our presentation on Tuesday 20th September at 14:55.
