Olgiate Olona (Va) – Italy, 31 October 2024 – Exergy International, a global provider of clean energy technology and leader in new generation geothermal ORC power plants has signed a contract with RentCo Africa Limited (RentCo), an independent firm providing energy leasing solution in Kenya, to undertake engineering activities for the RentCo Wellhead geothermal project in Olkaria, Kenya.
The contract, signed last Thursday by Erdogan Arpaci, General Manager of Exergy Turkey, and Robert Nyasmi, CEO of RentCo East Africa Limited, follows the Cooperation Agreement signed on July 2024 and it marks the beginning of the engineering phase for the supply of the Exergy’s Organic Rankine Cycle systems to harness Olkaria’s geothermal resources, contributing around 30 MWe capacity.
This project, combining ORC and flash power plant technology, will add a total of 67 MWe to the Olkaria geothermal field, further supporting Kenya’s sustainable energy goals.
As Exergy’s inaugural project in Africa, it marks a significant step in establishing Exergy as a key player in a region poised for rapid growth in clean energy—a market where the company aims to become a major player.
