Exergy International has secured a new grant participating in the call for bid “Ricerca e Innova” promoted by the Lombardy Region under the Regional Program FESR 2021-2027.
The “VELORC” R&D project presented by Exergy aims to develop a new series of ORC modules of a small size (from 700 kWe up to 5 MWe), on compact and pre-assembled skid, equipped with very high-speed Axial turbines (VHSAT) for power generation from high temperature resources.
The VELORC project will allow us to increase the efficiency of smaller ORC systems and innovate by providing high temperature smalle-scale modules to a market that is currently only served by solutions with low-efficiency volumetric expanders. Thanks to the VELORC new series, Exergy will deliver to the market small, compact and modular high-efficiency ORC systems for power generation from heat sources with low flow-rates and high temperatures, typically combustion gases in industrial processes.
These systems, thanks to their smaller size, modular configuration, easier installation and low footprint, are perfectly suited for the development of small, distributed energy systems to produce power onsite in industrial facilities.
