We are thrilled to announce that Exergy will be participating as a speaker at the Iceland Geothermal Conference, taking place in Reykjavik from 28th May to 30th May 2024. Our Proposal Department Manager, Riccardo Pezzoni, will be delivering a speech titled “Harnessing a Hot Dry Rock Geothermal Reservoir with Organic Rankine Cycle: The United Downs UK’s First Deep Geothermal Project.”
Scheduled for the morning technical session on 29th May, from 8:30 to 10:30, Riccardo’s presentation will delve into the groundbreaking United Downs Deep Geothermal Project in the UK. This project represents a significant advancement in geothermal technology, particularly in the field of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS).
The United Downs Deep Geothermal Project aims to tap into a geothermal resource extracting the heat from hot granite rocks. The system utilizes Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology to generate clean and sustainable energy.
Riccardo Pezzoni’s speech will provide valuable insights into the technical features of the project, highlighting the challenges overcome and the lessons learned along the way. Attendees can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the potential of ESG geothermal reservoirs and the role of ORC technology in maximizing their energy output.
The Iceland Geothermal Conference serves as a platform for industry professionals, researchers, and policymakers to exchange ideas and explore the latest advancements in geothermal energy. Exergy is honored to be a part of this event and looks forward to contributing to the conversation on geothemal energy solutions.
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear Riccardo Pezzoni’s presentation at the Iceland Geothermal Conference and learn more about Exergy’s committment and expertise in the field of geothermal energy.
